Some four years ago now the effort to create a permanent site to honor those United States Navy Corpsmen who served at the side of the United States Marine, in the field of combat, who risked their own lives that the Marines they served might come home, forever forging a bond that shall never be broken, began.
We have come a long way since that first meeting. We have a long way to go. We continue to march toward our goal to complete the North Carolina Corpsmen Memorial.
The trail has not been easy. We are all volunteers, each donating the time and effort it takes to complete the task. Though we have had our setbacks from time to time... We have never lost site of out goal... to honor our brothers and sisters who gave their best in service to the Marine as Fleet Marine Force Corpsmen.

We know a lot of things we didn't know those first few months.
We know where the memorial will be built. We know what it will
look like. We know how much it will take to build it. We know
the importance of our task to honor those who served. We know
the lives behind the names.
Most of all we know that it will take all of us... all who
have served, and are serving. It will take the dedicated efforts
of the families of those who have served, and those who
have fallen.
If every person who is serving in the United States Marines, or
as an FMF Corpsman, and every person who has served donated just $5.00 this memorial could have already been built and the reserve funding to make sure it is there for generations to come would be in place.
