We have already raised 10% of our goal. This figure does not represent funds already raised and expended to cover design of the maquette by artist Abbe' Godwin, promotional expenses, and operational expenses already paid out for support materials. Our volunteers covered most of those expenses out of their own pockets.
The NC Corpsmen Memorial is a registered 501 (C) (3) Not for profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and honor of the memory of those who served at the side of the United States Marine as a United States Navy Fleet Marine Force Corpsman. This means that your donation is tax deductible.
Based on current construction costs, materials for the sculpture, and projected costs of maintenance, the projected amount needed to complete the memorial is about $400,000. Currently that means we still need to raise $355.000. This is a goal we believe can and should be reached within the next three years, allowing for construction to begin no later than 2014.
If every active duty Marine and FMF Corpsman serving at Camp Lejeune, New River Air Station, Camp Geiger, Camp Johnson, Stone Bay, and Cherry Point gave just $5 we would already be well on the way of building the memorial. If those who have served and either gone on to other carreers will donate to their ability, then we know this memorial can be built on time.
